Club Level at Coronado Springs- How I Spent $0 at Walt Disney World
Pre-Cruise Stays
The rooms at Gran Destino Tower are very spacious and comfortable. Our room was just down the hall from the Chronos Club access.
To kick of our Spring Break 2026 Disney Cruise, we started our vacation with a pre-cruise stay at Coronado Springs Resort on Walt Disney World property.
I love to stay on property at Walt Disney World for a cruise out of Port Canaveral because I prefer to take Disney Cruise Line bus transportation to the port. This transportation option allows you receive an earlier Port Arrival Time, which means an earlier entrance onto your ship and an earlier start to your vacation! Plus, your luggage will be picked up from your WDW resort room at 7 a.m. the day of sailing and magically arrive outside of your cruise stateroom by evening. This means no lugging around your suitcases and belongings, which is a huge perk to me!
Coronado Springs, A Hidden Gem
Coronado Springs is a moderate resort at Walt Disney World. The property itself is very large with many different lodging areas, restaurants, and amenities. Located within the sprawling grounds of Coronado Springs resort is Gran Destino Tower, a relatively new addition to WDW. This tower has more of a deluxe feel with incredible rooms, sweeping views of all four WDW theme parks, and lots of high quality amenities for a price tag that is a little more digestible than deluxe resorts on property.
Gran Destino Tower is located in the middle of Coronado Springs and is a relatively recent (2019) addition to Walt Disney World.
There are many different room types you can book at Gran Destino Tower, but one unique feature of Gran Destino Tower is that it is the only moderate resort to offer rooms with club level access. This means that this resort provides the most affordable option for staying club level at WDW!
What is Club Level at Disney World?
Club level at Walt Disney World is basically an upgraded hotel experience where you stay on a special floor or within a special building depending on the resort and get access to a private lounge with food, drinks, and concierge services. It essentially creates more of an all-inclusive vibe.
Chronos Club offered many great food selections as well as amazing views and fun family entertainment for us during our stay.
In staying club level, you get access to the private lounge on both check-in and check-out days, meaning that a one night stay gets you two days of access to the lounge (and the food!)
Our Experience with Chronos Club
When I was booking our pre-cruise stay, I grabbed an available club level room to try out the experience. With the promotion I used, it was only about $150 more for the one night we were staying to upgrade our stay. This one night trip to Disney did not involve any park days for us, so I knew that we would be hanging at the resort and would be around for all of the different food offerings, which made the value seem a little more worth it to me!
Our experience at club level actually started a few days before even arriving in Florida! I received a phone call from the club concierge two days before our stay, asking about food allergies for my family and offering assistance with any pre-travel issue or questions I might have had.
Upon arrival at Gran Destino Tower, we were greeted at our room door by club concierge offering us a personal letter with details about the club and food hours and offerings. Our flight was mildly delayed to Orlando, but we made it just in time to try the “light snacks” food window, which was essentially a lunch offering.
This is a copy of the letter we received at check-in detailing all of the information we needed for Chronos Club.
Through the course of the one night stay, we tried each of the offering windows: light snacks, hors d’oerves and select beverages, desserts and cordials, and continental breakfast. Each window offered enough food and variety for each of us in our family that we ate full meals in the club and didn’t spend a single additional cent on food!
Some highlights included the bruschetta, the plentiful hot breakfast items, evening desserts, and morning POG juice mimosas. Yes, alcohol is also included in the club as well as soft drinks and coffees!
Here’s just a section of the continental breakfast offerings featuring breads, pastries, and cereal options.
Beyond the food offerings, there are board games available for families to play, books to read, and Disney movies showing on the television. We noticed some people “setting up shop” in the lounge for the day and using the space to relax, spend time with family or friends or do some work while enjoying the food offerings and amazing park views!
When is Club Level Worth It?
Ultimately, I think club level is worth it if you can get a good deal and you plan to spend a lot of time at the resort. It is perfect for a pre-cruise stay where the focus is not the parks and instead is resort time prior to catching transportation.
To me, a club level stay doesn’t make a lot of sense for families who plan to spend a lot of time in the parks or plan to enjoy a lot of character meals and park-based snacks. Additionally, it wouldn’t make sense to purchase.a dining plan and stay club level. If you are booking a club level room, it makes sense to visit the lounge multiple times each day to truly get the value of the experience.
On the whole, I recommend the club level for clients looking to have relaxing resort days or short staycation experiences focusing on resorts instead of parks. It was the perfect transition to our experience on the Disney Wish through Disney Cruise Line, known for its hospitality, level of service and care, and food! I know my family wants to book Gran Destino Tower Club Level again soon.
